Meet Elphaba

Elphaba Thropp is a woman with green skin, quick wit, and powerful magical abilities. Since birth, she has been judged and ostracized by her family and peers. Despite being misunderstood, Elphaba is deeply compassionate and determined to stand up for those who are treated unfairly.

Elphaba cares deeply for her younger sister, Nessarose, and sees her off at Shiz University. While at Shiz, Elphaba catches the attention of Madame Morrible, the headmistress of the school. Madame Morrible recognizes her extraordinary powers and offers to mentor Elphaba, promising to eventually lead her to serve the Wizard of Oz.

At Shiz, Elphaba also meets Fiyero, a charming and carefree prince who initially seems to be her complete opposite. At first, Fiyero is drawn to Glinda; however, as the story continues, he develops a deep connection with Elphaba. Their unexpected relationship becomes an important part of Elphaba's journey and exposes her softer side.

During her time at Shiz, Elphaba becomes increasingly aware of the unjust treatment of the Animals of Oz. She develops a close bond with Doctor Dillamond, a talking goat professor, who helps her understand the growing discrimination against Animals. In an effort to make a difference, Elphaba decides to ask the Wizard for help and use her abilities to aid the Animals.

Elphaba soon discovers that Madame Morrible and the Wizard are responsible for using her powers to further their own agenda and harm the Animals of Oz. She refuses to be an accomplice to their schemes and flees to the West. Elphaba's defiance leads the people of Oz to label her the "Wicked Witch of the West," forcing her to live as an outcast. Despite this, Elphaba remains steadfast in her resistance and continues to fight for what is right, with Fiyero by her side.
